OMS partners with Countrywide to enhance survey access for brokers

Published on

One Mortgage System (OMS) has announced a new partnership with Countrywide Home Surveys, a division of Countrywide Surveying Services, to streamline survey referrals for mortgage brokers and their clients.

The integration will allow OMS users to refer clients directly to Countrywide Home Surveys through a concierge-style service that includes competitive survey pricing, access to a nationwide network of over 400 qualified surveyors, and broker referral fees.

The partnership is intended to help brokers support their clients more effectively during the homebuying process, particularly when it comes to understanding the value of independent property assessments. Recent research conducted by Countrywide Surveying Services and Pegasus Insight underlines that value, showing that 88% of consumers who commissioned a home condition survey would do so again.

More significantly, 92% said the survey gave them peace of mind, while 60% of reports uncovered issues not previously identified.

Jodie Andrews, head of marketing and partnerships at OMS, said the collaboration filled “an important gap” in the services available on the platform.

“We’re delighted to partner with one of the leading surveying firms in the sector and offer users a bespoke referral service,” she said.

“With over £1.5bn of lending transacted by our users each month, I am sure this new partnership will prove popular.”

Andrews added that a launch webinar would be held jointly with Countrywide, and that brokers can register their interest through the OMS platform.

FUNDAMENTAL ELEMENT

Helen Stead (main picture), head of Countrywide Home Surveys, said: “Brokers are obviously a fundamental element in the homebuying process for the majority and so helping brokers and their clients understand the value of a survey/condition report is something we are keen to develop and promote.”

She added that many borrowers still confuse a mortgage valuation with a full survey, a knowledge gap that can result in poor financial outcomes. “We wish to ensure good financial outcomes for as many customers as possible, especially as it’s a key component to Consumer Duty,” she said.

END-TO-END PLATFORM

The tie-up with Countrywide adds to a growing list of integrations for OMS, which claims to be the only end-to-end platform supporting a broad suite of product types – from residential and buy-to-let, to bridging, commercial, second charge, equity release and protection. The system is already integrated with several leading providers, including Ignite, Submissions Brain, Twenty7Tec, iPipeline, Hometrack and Knowledge Bank.

A free trial of the platform is available via www.onemortgage.co.uk, and brokers who use the code OMS2025 can claim 10% off Countrywide’s standard fees until 30 June 2025.
