OFT makes further senior appointments

The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has completed the line-up of its senior management team.

Sonya Branch, previously senior director, goods, has now returned from maternity leave as senior director, services, to include public services.

Barney Wyld, formerly director of communications, takes on additional responsibilities to become senior director, strategy and communications.

Responsibilities of the three executive directors have also been confirmed. Clive Maxwell takes overall responsibility for the mergers, goods and services groups, while Robert Laslett takes overall responsibility for cartels and criminal enforcement, infrastructure and consumer markets groups.

Also, Vivienne Dews continues as executive director, corporate services including Consumer Direct and consumer credit licensing.

The work of each of these groups will continue to be led by the existing senior directors and directors.

Jonathan May, formerly executive director, policy and strategy who also covered the post of executive director, markets and projects from 2008, retired this summer.
