New report shines a light on intermediary tech options

Published on

Iress has the greatest number of products on any sourcing system available to the adviser operating in the UK mortgage market, with 62,220.

In comparison, Mortgage Brain has 50,141 live and withdrawn products.

These are some of the many findings of BestAdvice Intelligence‘s Technology for Mortgage Intermediaries report, which gives mortgage advisers a clear picture of the key technology providers delivering products to the mortgage intermediary market.

It covers all the main mortgage sourcing providers in the market, as well as Customer Relationship Management (CRM), case management, ‘end-to-end’, criteria and affordability system providers.

The report reveals for the first time the levels of activity of almost all the key providers in specific business sectors, enabling intermediaries to understand better the organisations with whom they are either partnering with or considering for the future.

It found that with over 20,000, Iress has the most (published) registered users of a sourcing system.

Meanwhile, advisers says it is critical that the system they use is “whole of market”.

Despite being a relatively recent addition to the sourcing system feature set, criteria searching is the third most important factor for advisers when selecting a sourcing system.

Kevin Rose, editor of BestAdvice and author of the report, said: “Mortgage advisers have until now lacked a clear picture of all of the options available to them. For the first time ever, providers have, with a few exceptions, opted to disclose data to the intermediary community through this report. This gives advisers a clearer view of tools available to them within the sector in which they operate.

“The collaborative approach of providers contributing data to this report marks a step forward in the transparency of the mortgage technology sector.”

All data was collected in November 2019.
