Nationwide relaunches home insurance range with new Aviva partnership

Nationwide has relaunched its home insurance range, introducing two new products – Enhanced and Essentials – designed to give customers greater choice and flexibility in how they protect their homes.

The move follows the building society’s appointment of Aviva as its new underwriting partner.

Both products have been independently rated by Defaqto, with the Enhanced policy receiving the top 5 Star rating and the Essentials option rated 3 Star.

The Enhanced cover provides unlimited buildings and contents protection, targeting homeowners seeking comprehensive cover and peace of mind.

The Essentials product, by contrast, offers up to £1 million for buildings and up to £50,000 for contents, aimed at those seeking more affordable protection without paying for additional benefits they may not need.

Nationwide has also removed a number of charges commonly found elsewhere in the market. Customers paying monthly will not incur any additional fees compared with those paying annually, and there are no charges for cancellations or policy changes.

Darren Black, Nationwide’s head of protection and insurances, said: “We know there isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution for home insurance, which is why we’re delighted to be relaunching our home insurance offering with Aviva.

“Some people will want the reassurance of having the best quality cover to protect their home and their belongings, while others would prefer to have a lower level of cover that meets their needs at a lower cost.

“By offering two distinct options – Enhanced and Essentials – we are providing our customers with the flexibility to choose the level of cover and premium cost that best suits their needs.”
