Movin Legal launches Digital Home Surveys with Legal & General

Published on

Conveyancing panel manager Movin Legal has introduced a new Digital Home Survey function in partnership with Legal & General.

The new function improves convenience and efficiency for homebuyers by enabling brokers to order a property survey at the point of instruction.

Movin Legal already offers a wide-ranging independent panel of conveyancing solicitors, all operating under strict service level agreements. Now, with the integration of Legal & General’s widely recognised Digital Home Survey, users of the Movin Legal platform can access this add-on alongside existing features such as expedited searches, homebuyer protection and exclusive reward benefits.

FULLY DIGITAL

The Digital Home Survey is a fully digital report for a home buyer designed by Legal & General Surveying Services. A RICS-qualified surveyor conducts a thorough inspection of the property, assessing key areas such as the roof, walls, damp and timber.

After the inspection, a comprehensive digital report is typically delivered within 48 hours.

Movin Legal says the Survey has intuitive design and offers opportunity to speak to the surveyor before and after the inspection The report highlights any defects or issues using photographs and a traffic-light grading system, allowing buyers to quickly gauge the severity of potential problems.

Homebuyers are also able to share information from the report with tradespeople and repair solutions providers. They can obtain trade quotes which can also be leveraged in negotiations with the seller if necessary.

Lyndon Whistance, chief operating officer at Movin Legal, said: “We have listened to our clients, and home surveys were a key area where they sought additional support.

“By integrating Legal & General’s Digital Home Survey into our platform, we are delivering an innovative, efficient, and valuable solution that enhances the homebuying process.”

Clare Beardmore, director of distribution and mortgage club at L&G Mortgage Services, added: “We are always seeking partners who value their customers’ needs as much as we do.

“Home surveys are an integral part of the home-buying process, and we are excited that Movin Legal has chosen our Digital Home Survey product to deliver a more intuitive and convenient experience for brokers and their customers.”
