Metro Bank has announced the appointment of James Reuben to its board as a non-executive director.

This appointment comes as Metro Bank prepares to open its ninth store in Uxbridge and follows shortly after the appointment of Luke Johnson as a non executive director.

Reuben is an experienced residential and commercial property specialist. He is Chairman of BackBoris2012, the campaign for Boris Johnson’s re-election as Major of London.

In 2002, Reuben established and is a trustee of Reuben Foundation, a UK registered charity committed to the advancement of healthcare and education globally. Reuben is responsible for the property department and oversaw the the launch of The Reuben Foundation Children’s Cancer Centre, the largest paediatric cancer treatment centre in Europe.

Since 2006, Reuben has worked with the Conservative Party fundraising team and has been responsible for organising and co-ordinating fundraising projects for both Boris Johnson and David Cameron. Between 2008 and 2010, Reuben was a Board Director for Motcomb Estates, a property advisory business within the UK, with a core focus on urban regeneration.

Anthony Thomson, co-founder and chairman of Metro Bank, said: “We’re very pleased to appoint James Reuben to the board of Metro Bank. As we move into our next period of expansion a property specialist with James’ extensive experience will really benefit Metro Bank’s board.

Metro Bank has an incredibly strong set of non executive directors, offering practical experience and strong business track records across the board.”
