MBT introduces mortgage helpdesk

Published on

Mortgage Broker Tools (MBT) has launched a new Mortgage Helpdesk, giving brokers immediate telephone access to specialists who are able to help research the best solutions for their difficult cases.

The MBT Mortgage Helpdesk complements the MBT Affordability digital research platform, by providing brokers with access to an experienced team who are on hand to support brokers in answering questions and placing cases.

The team, which has more than 50 years’ mortgage experience, will be ready to quickly answer calls, so brokers can avoid the long wait times that are commonly associated with lender call centres.

The service is available to members of MBT for a small additional annual fee.

Tanya Toumadj (pictured), CEO at Mortgage Broker Tools, said: “At Mortgage Broker Tools, we have launched an old school approach to complement our high-tech MBT Affordability platform and provide even more value to our users.

“The market is changing constantly, adding greater complexity to even straightforward cases. Access to real-time information is more important than ever and platforms like MBT can help brokers navigate the affordability and criteria maze as they carry out their research.

“Sometimes, however, there’s a tricky case that needs a human touch and, with wait-times for lenders often running to many hours, speaking to someone who can help can prove tricky.

“That’s where the MBT Mortgage Helpdesk comes in. Our team of experts have combined experience of more than 50 years in the mortgage market and are available to work with brokers on their hard to place cases.

“A good example of this in action is a recent case where the MBT Mortgage Helpdesk helped a broker secure a mortgage for a first-time buyer, who worked as a CIS contractor, on a concessionary buy-to-let purchase. Overlaying a multitude of different criteria was time consuming for the broker and with product withdrawals being announced every day, time was of the essence. However, following a quick call to the MBT Mortgage Helpdesk, our experts were able to identify viable mortgages and lenders – helping the broker to place the case.

“At MBT, we are committed to developing market leading technology to help brokers match their clients with the most suitable mortgage for their needs, but we also believe there’s still room for a human touch.”
