Mortgage Business Expo (MBE) has revealed that Ken Clark, deputy agent for the North West at the Bank of England, will be the keynote speaker for MBE North 2025.
A former academic, he has published widely in the area of labour economics and held a number of leadership roles in higher education.
Between 2015 and 2021 Clark (pictured) served as the economist member of the School Teachers’ Review Body which advises the Department for Education on teacher pay in English schools.
With his background in economics and public service, Clark will offer attendees his macroeconomic outlook on the UK housing and mortgage markets.
MBE North 2025 will take place at Manchester Central on 28th March 2025, bringing together brokers, lenders, and key industry stakeholders.
In addition to unveiling the keynote speaker, MBE North has confirmed that FIBA, the specialist property finance trade body, will once again partner with MBE to host its Annual Conference at the event. This continued partnership reinforces MBE’s role as a hub for professional development and networking, particularly within the specialist finance sector.
Attendees can also look forward to a comprehensive seminar programme, with the schedule set to be released early in the year.
Registration for MBE North 2025 is now open, and visitors are encouraged to register here to secure their place.
Since its inception in 2002, Mortgage Business Expo has become a cornerstone event for the financial intermediary sector, offering invaluable insights into the latest opportunities, forecasts, and trends in the UK mortgage and specialist lending markets.
Mike Mikunda, director at MBE, said: “We are proud to welcome Ken Clark as our keynote speaker for MBE North 2025. His insights into the UK economy will offer attendees a valuable perspective on the Bank of England’s market outlook for 2025.”
“We are also pleased to continue our close partnership with FIBA, whose Annual Conference will further enrich the event by attracting a wider audience of lenders and brokers, particularly in the specialist property finance space. As always, visitors can also earn CPD hours.”
Martin Reynolds, chairman of FIBA, added: “Partnering with MBE for our Annual Conference has proven to be a great fit for FIBA. It allows us to engage with brokers and lenders in a dynamic environment, providing a platform to explore the key challenges and opportunities facing the specialist finance sector.”
