Lloyds Banking Group makes key appointments

Lloyds Banking Group has made two senior appointments, with the hire of Toby Strauss and promotion of Rosie Harris.

Strauss, who is currently UK Life CEO at Aviva, becomes group director for insurance, while Harris, currently divisional risk officer for insurance at Lloyds Banking Group is to take the role of managing director of general insurance.

Strauss has also worked at Charcol between 1999 and 2002, becoming managing director before moving to JS & P (now Towry, the wealth management firm) as chief executive.

He will report to Ant&oacutenio Horta- Os&oacuterio, group chief executive, and will also join the group executive committee. He joins the group on 3 October 2011, subject to FSA approval.

Harris, who will report to Strauss when he joins, is currently a member of the insurance executive committee. She has previously worked for Old Mutual as group risk director and Prudential UK and Europe as chief operating officer.
