Legal & General has appointed Kevin Roberts as director of the Legal & General Mortgage Club.

He will be responsible for overall strategy of Legal & General Mortgage Club, working with the existing team, lender partners and key intermediary firms.

Roberts joins the Mortgage Club from Legal & General’s general insurance division, where he was broker & affinity director for the past two years. He was responsible for the profit and growth of the channel as well as protection relationships with a number of brands across the UK.

He has 28 years’ experience in insurance, five of which have been at Legal & General. He has also held a variety of roles across both commercial and personal lines, and more latterly in life assurance.

Roberts will take up his new role as director of Legal & General Mortgage Club on 14 March.

Steve Griffiths, managing director, UK protection, Legal & General, said: “We’re excited to welcome Kevin as he takes the helm of Legal & General Mortgage Club. Kevin will be a valuable addition to the team, bringing with him extensive experience of working with business partners within the insurance sector, which will no doubt widen the expertise of the Club.

“Kevin joins an experienced team that holds great relationships with lenders and brokers alike, and we look forward to working closely with him to evolve and expand our proposition.”

Roberts added: “Joining Legal & General Mortgage Club is a hugely exciting opportunity. The team has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and I look forward to working closely with them to provide fresh and innovative ideas and to ensure the Mortgage Club evolves in the new digital age.”
