A charity scheme supported by Leeds Building Society’s members has raised £24,970 for Marie Curie.

The Leeds supported the charity through the ‘Your Interest in Theirs’ scheme, where members donate the pence amount of interest they earn on their savings.

“Leeds Building Society has been a long standing supporter of Marie Curie,” said Luke Wellock, Leeds Building Society’s corporate responsibility manager.

“Earlier this year our colleagues backed Marie Curie’s annual Great Daffodil Appeal and Yorkshire Brain Game.

“I’m pleased our members have also chosen to support Marie Curie by kindly donating the pence amount of their interest through the Your Interest in Theirs scheme.

“These donations and support form part of our commitment to do what’s right for our members, colleagues and communities.”

Holly Buckley, senior partnerships manager at Marie Curie, added: “We are so incredibly grateful for the continued generosity from Leeds Building Society members.

“This donation could pay for more than 1,200 hours of care. I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks on behalf of everyone at Marie Curie.”
