L&C and Winston’s Wish mark 10-year partnership and £100k raised

L&C Mortgages as reached another significant milestone in its long-standing partnership with Winston’s Wish, the child bereavement charity.

This year marks an incredible total of more than £100,000 raised, as L&C celebrates 10 years of partnership with Winstons Wish in its support of grieving children and young people across the UK.

Over the past decade this collaboration has allowed the charity to support thousands of children and young people through the toughest times, demonstrating the power and value of long-term partnerships.

CRUCIAL SUPPORT

Winston’s Wish was set up in 1992 to provide crucial support for children and young people across the UK grieving the death of someone important to them.

They help by providing online access to useful resources, real time support from Bereavement Support Workers, peer support groups and one-to-one individual sessions.

As a provider of advice on life, critical illness and income protection policies to homeowners and buyers across the UK, L&C has donated to Winston’s Wish for every policy its customers take for over 10 years.

But the impressive total has been reached through additional fundraising by L&C right across the business.

That has included marathons, cake bakes, raffles and colleague donations. Most recently, L&C’s winter parties held in Bath and Newcastle raised an additional £6,000 through donations on both nights.

Mark Harrington, chief executive at L&C Mortgages, said: “Reaching the 10-year milestone of our partnership fills me with immense pride.

“Over this period we’ve seen the profound difference this incredible charity makes to the lives of bereaved children and their families and we are honoured to play a part in supporting their vital work.

“This partnership has been a great success, not only from a fundraising perspective, but also to reflect our values and commitment to making a positive community impact.”

Fergus Crow, chief executive at Winston’s Wish, added: “I have worked in the charity sector for almost all my career and the kind of partnership that L&C and Winston’s Wish has developed over the last decade is incredibly rare, and it has been a privilege to be part of it.

“To have raised over £100,000 in that time is a huge achievement, and a tribute to everyone at L&C – it shows how by following a common cause, great people can do great things. We, at Winston’s Wish, are so grateful to have been the cause that found its place in the hearts of those at L&C who have wanted to make it happen, both through corporate partnership and their own individual fundraising.”
