KR Group has appointed Charlie Moran as group data and business intelligence director.

Moran’s most recent role was head of database and analytics at Sainsbury’s Bank, where he was tasked with leveraging the group’s data asset, across the Argos and Sainsbury’s heritage businesses.

Prior to this, he worked within Home Retail Group for over 10 years in various senior leadership roles such as the database and analysis controller, where he was responsible for delivering the data warehouse capability to a broader user community, both internally and more widely across the Argos Retail Business.

At the KR Group, Moran will lead multi-functional delivery teams to provide robust insight and data services across the Group and for relevant external stakeholders.

He will also be responsible for building the insight and data engineering capability by providing technical leadership for the insight and data community across KR Group.

Moran will report directly to Rob Scott, chief finance officer.

Scott said: “Charlie brings valuable know-how to KR Group and will be an asset to the senior management team. His expert knowledge of data analytics built across the retail and financial services sphere, will help to create more business insight supporting the continued growth of the group.”

Moran added: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining KR Group at such an exciting time. Harnessing our data with a robust, scalable infrastructure and powerful analytical tools are the building blocks for any data driven organisation and I’m looking forward to helping KR Group further realise the benefits to be gained.”
