Specialist buy-to-let lender Keystone Property Finance has partnered with valuation panel manager Method in a move designed to remove friction from the valuation process for brokers and landlords.
The agreement will see Keystone become the first lender to integrate Method xi, the firm’s API-driven platform, directly into its own systems, automating a process that was previously handled through a series of manual steps.
The integration means that, once a valuation is instructed, Method’s platform automatically scans the market to appoint the most appropriate valuer for each case, taking into account factors such as location, cost and service level agreements.
The change applies across all valuations, including more complex cases such as houses in multiple occupation, multi-unit freehold blocks and semi-commercial property.
Keystone said the partnership reflects the flexibility of its bespoke technology infrastructure, which allows it to introduce new functionality more quickly than lenders reliant on off-the-shelf software.
Over the past 12 months, the lender has stepped up investment in its technology stack, including the rollout of an AI-powered document labelling system aimed at reducing administrative work for brokers.
It has also partnered with LMS to use its Panel Link service, expanding the range of solicitors available for limited company and personal name applications.
David Whittaker (pictured), chief executive at Keystone Property Finance, said: “Our goal is to remove the friction points that have traditionally made the mortgage journey feel slow and fragmented.
“By being the first lender to go live with Method’s API integration, we have fundamentally streamlined our complex valuation workflow, replacing time-consuming admin with a smart, automated solution.
“This will particularly benefit HMO, MUFB and semi commercial valuations. At Keystone, we don’t introduce technology for technology’s sake.
“We only invest in features that make a tangible difference to brokers’ lives. And our new partnership with Method is a perfect example of that.”
Stephen Henman, managing director at Method, said: “We’re delighted to see Keystone utilising our direct integration ability that enhances speed and efficiency across the full valuation process for the benefit of brokers, borrowers and internal teams.”
