Iress reappoints Stephen Cowdell as senior business development manager

Iress has confirmed the return of Stephen Cowdell, who rejoins the business following three years at 360 Lifecycle.

Cowdell takes up the role of senior business development manager at a point of renewed demand for Iress’ mortgage and protection technology, Xplan Mortgage, following significant investment in the platform.

He previously spent seven years at Iress as a key account manager and returns with wider cross-industry experience and a refreshed view of the market.

In his new role, Cowdell will support firms using Iress’ sourcing technology, including The Exchange and Xplan Mortgage, helping them to maximise value from their software while navigating ongoing change across the advice and mortgage markets.

Cowdell has more than 20 years’ experience in financial services and has worked with many of the UK’s largest networks, mortgage clubs, digital advisers and online aggregators. A former financial adviser, he brings first-hand insight into the role technology plays in supporting effective advice and strong client outcomes.

Warren O’Connell, head of business development at Iress, said: “I am delighted to welcome Stephen back to Iress. His deep understanding of the market, combined with his experience outside the business, will be a real asset to our clients and to Iress as we continue to evolve our mortgage and protection proposition.

“Stephen has built strong relationships across the industry and will play an important role in supporting both existing clients and the increasing demand for Xplan Mortgage.”

Cowdell added: “Iress has always felt like home. My experience at 360 Lifecycle, including extensive exposure across sourcing systems, strengthened my understanding of the mortgage technology market and reinforced what differentiates Iress – its proposition, people and part.”
