HTB appoints bridging BDM for London & Home Counties

Hampshire Trust Bank (HTB) has announced the appointment of Alex McMillen as business development manager (BDM) within its bridging division.

McMillen (pictured) has over 10 years’ experience in the mortgage finance sector and has made the move from HTB’s specialist mortgages division, where he was a lending manager for nine months. During his career, he has also worked for Magellan Homeloans and Bluestone Mortgages.

In his new role, McMillen will be responsible for building and maintaining long lasting relationships with introducers in London and the Home Counties. This will involve keeping brokers up to speed on HTB’s latest products, processes and systems, as well as providing efficient feedback on lending decisions, including the issuing of terms.

McMillen said: “Having worked at HTB for the past nine months as a lending manager in specialist mortgages, I’m excited to be joining the bridging finance team as a BDM covering London and the Home Counties. This year is going to be about improving our brand awareness, educating brokers on our systems and process and establishing ourselves as a ‘go to’ bridging lender within the market.

“We have an amazing bridging proposition and I’m looking forward to getting out on the road to discuss how we can help brokers with their clients’ cases.”

Jamie Jolly, director of bridging, Hampshire Trust Bank, added: “I’m very pleased to welcome Alex to the bridging team at Hampshire Trust Bank. The fact that he is not new to HTB is a real boon and means he will be hitting the ground running.

“Over recent months we have put the finishing touches to the new HTB bridging team, with speed and flexibility at the forefront of our proposition. We’re looking to increase our market share this year and providing a smooth customer journey is key to achieving this.”
