Hinckley & Rugby Building Society is donating £1,250 to the East Midlands children’s hospice Rainbows after almost 4,000 votes were cast at its Annual General Meeting.

This year the Society donated 25 pence for each vote cast via post or in person and 40 pence for each online vote at its 146th AGM, which was held at its head office in Hinckley. Rainbows Children’s Hospice, based at Loughborough, helps children with life limiting and life threatening conditions.

Chief executive Chris White said: “We always like to encourage our members to vote and to do so with the added benefit of generating a donation to Rainbows. Our thanks go to members who voted and enabled the Society to support a wonderful charity very much valued by local people.””
