The coalition government has announced a consultation as it seems to end blanket Houses of Multiple Occupation (HMO) planning regulations in favour of a supposedly more targeted approach.

The onus will be on local authorities to tailor recent shared housing planning rule changes to areas where high concentrations of shared housing are causing problems.
