Front Events, organisers of Financial Services Expo (FSE) Midlands, has revealed announced the full seminar programme.

FSE Midlands will take place for the first time on 3 November at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

The keynote speech will be delivered by Lynda Blackwell, mortgage sector manager at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). She will be providing an up-to-date view of the regulator’s current work within the mortgage market, and offering expertise and guidance on advice areas for brokers to be aware of.

Other seminars taking place on the day include:

  • Industry panel debate. Taking part are John Truswell, CHL Mortgages; Adrian Moloney, OneSavings Bank; Bob Hunt, Paradigm Mortgage Services; and Jason Berry, Uinsure.
  • Retirement trends and opportunities. Key Retirement’s Dean Mirfin reviews the mains trends in the retirement space and the opportunities for advisers.
  • Buy-to-let market review. Mortgages for Business’ David Whittaker and Connect IFA’s Liz Syms provide a review of the buy-to-let market.

The seminar sessions are CII-accredited and delegates can earn CPD hours.

As well as the main seminar theatre, the FSE Midlands exhibition space provides adviser visitors with access to over 40 exhibitors, from niche lenders to challenger banks to high-street providers, plus mortgage clubs, networks, master brokers, other product providers and specialist operators.

Exhibitors attending FSE London include Nationwide, NatWest Intermediary Solutions, Virgin Money, Accord Mortgages, Kensington, One Savings Bank, CHL, Dudley Building Society, National Counties/Family Building Society and many more.

Alongside free access to the event, all attendees at FSE Midlands will receive a free ticket to a Wasps Rugby Union home match of their choice at the Ricoh Arena.

James Prosser, managing director of Front Events, said: “At the start of next month we open the doors of FSE Midlands, taking place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, for the very first time. Over the past few years we have broadened the reach of FSE expanding into Manchester, Glasgow, and Cardiff, and it seems only right that we now move into the Midlands, to offer local advisers, who work within a vibrant financial services community, access to our unique events.

“Once again we have managed to secure a strong roster of presenting talent to offer their views and expertise, and we are delighted to welcome Lynda Blackwell as our key-note speaker offering the regulator’s highly important view on the market and advisers’ place within it. On top of this we have a number of heavyweight industry players presenting on a variety of topics including equity release, lending into retirement, and buy-to-let.

“We currently have over 40 exhibitors signed up for FSE Midlands and we believe that, coupled with the seminars and the opportunity to network and develop new relationships, this presents the Midlands-based adviser with a number of reasons to attend. It is set to be a highly informative day plus all attendees will get a chance to come back at a later date to see Wasps play for free, at the very same venue. We look forward to welcoming the Midlands’ financial advisory community to the Ricoh next month.”
