FSA takes action over five firms’ RMAR failings

Published on

Five regulated firms have had their permissions cancelled by the FSA.

The handful all were deemed to have failed to comply with the regulatory requirement to submit their Retail Mediation Activities Return (RMAR) for the period ended 31 December 2009.

The regulator said they had not been open and co-operative in all their dealings with the FSA, in that they failed to respond to the FSA’s repeated requests for you to submit the RMAR, and have thereby failed to comply with Principle 11 of the FSA’s Principles for Businesses and to satisfy the FSA that they are ready, willing and organised to comply with the requirements and standards under the regulatory system.

The five are:

* Sally Whitaker trading as Rock Pool, of 10 Spout Spinney Stannington Sheffield South Yorkshire S6 6EQ
* John Metcalfe, of 1 Market Place Penistone Sheffield South Yorkshire S36 6DA
* Gorton Insurance Bureau Limited, of 25 Reddish Lane Manchester Lancashire M18 7JH
* Capital Solutions (S&J) Limited, of 196 Trinity Road London SW17 7HR
* BAJ Building Services Limited, of 9 Carnoustie Gardens Glenrothes Fife KY6 2QB
