Front Events’ chairman Malone to step down

Front Events, the events company behind the Financial Services Expo (FSE) shows, has announced that John Malone is to leave his position as chairman.

Malone joined the business in January 2014 and has had a career spanning over 50 years working in the mortgage industry, including 17 years running the PMS mortgage club.

During his time as chairman, he has supported the Front Events team by helping developing its FSE exhibitions which have expanded to now include a roster of five shows across the UK – Glasgow, Manchester, Wales, London and the Midlands.

James Prosser, director of Front Events, said: “It is with some sadness that we are announcing today that John is leaving the business after nearly five years with us. During that time, through John’s support and counsel we have grown FSE significantly and it would be fair to say that without John’s involvement we would not be in the position we are today.

“He has been a rock for me personally and in a business sense, and everyone at Front Events wishes him the very best for the future. He has, and always will be, the ‘Godfather’ of the mortgage industry and I am very grateful that he chose to join Front Events when he did and he gave us his time and energy to help develop our relationships and overall operation. Thank you John.”

Malone added: “All good things come to an end, and especially with the business going from strength to strength, now feels like the right time to ‘exit stage left’. James and the team have developed a fantastic business which truly serves the whole of the market in terms of the exhibitions and the overall experience.

“I am very proud to have played a part in that, and to see the entire industry congregated at FSE London last month showed how it continues to push boundaries and remains the market-leader. The market continues to challenge and excite and I’m absolutely confident that Front Events and FSE will continue to deliver for all concerned. I wish everyone involved with the business all the very best. It has been a real pleasure to work with you.”
