Free legal fee charity competition unveiled

The Conveyancing Foundation will be running a series of events during 2016 which conveyancers or those involved in the conveyancing industry can get involved with.

The Free Legal Fee Charity Competition is open to all conveyancers to use in order to raise funds for the charities of their choice.

In 2015 the Foundation was heavily supported by the Conveyancing Association, SLC and Bold Group members who helped raise over £50,000 for the Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice through the Matterhorn Challenge.

The Foundation’s objectives for 2016 are to raise over £150,000 for charity and to engage sufficient Conveyancers in the Free Legal Fee Charity Competition so that over £40,000 per month can be raised through the competition by the end of the year.

The Foundation Members will be taking part in a number of events including a 200-mile cycle from Cardiff to Dublin in aid of Shelter Cymru and a Magic Moments Cycle from Cardiff to Colchester in April. Further information and the ability to make donations can be found at the Foundation website at www.conveyancingfoundation.org.uk/make-a-donation

Lloyd Davies, chairman of the Conveyancing Foundation, said: “The Conveyancing Foundation has been established to help conveyancers raise money for their chosen charities. The Foundation is here to help and not to choose the charities for the conveyancers.

“The Free Legal Fee Charity Competition is an excellent way for conveyancers to raise funds quickly and effectively on a monthly basis for their chosen charities. It is very easy to establish – conveyancers of all sizes can access a toolkit to set up their own functionality from our website. We would like everyone to get involved in ‘conveyancing for charity’ this year. Please do not hesitate to contact us for additional information.”
