A Scottish-based employee at the Skipton Building Society’s has won his firm’s business development manager (BDM) of the year award for the third year running.

Craig Beattie won the honour at Skipton Building Society’s Star Awards ceremony, held as part of its annual conference. The awards celebrate the best of Skipton and this was the fourth time in five years that Beattie has won the title BDM of the Year.

He said: “Winning the award for the third year running is fantastic. It shows that with the help of my colleagues within multiple departments at Head Office and the support of my intermediary partners, great things can be achieved.”

Beattie has worked for the Society for 12 years. He was previously manager at Skipton’s Glasgow branch and has just passed his diploma in mortgages.

Paul Darwin, Skipton’s head of intermediary sales, said: “Our BDMs are not there just to sell rates, their job is to understand the broker’s business and add value to it.

“Craig spends most of his working week out on the road ensuring we are consistently delivering great service to the broker community.

“We are constantly looking at new and innovative ways of supporting our brokers. And Craig works hard to best understand their individual needs and their business, and to add value to it. Together we are constantly working towards an elevated level of service and are committed to providing great coverage and service.”
