Fleet strengthens intermediary sales structure

Published on

Fleet Mortgages has promoted two senior business development managers into newly created regional leadership roles as it looks to deepen broker support and strengthen its intermediary sales structure.

The specialist buy-to-let lender has appointed Chris Barwick (main picture, left) and Katy Williams (main picture, right) as regional sales managers, with both continuing in their existing BDM roles alongside new leadership responsibilities.

The move signals a further investment in Fleet’s field sales team, with a focus on enhancing broker engagement and supporting the development of its intermediary-facing staff.

Both will report into chief commercial officer Steve Cox, while taking on additional oversight of other BDMs across their respective regions.

LEADERSHIP ROLES

Barwick will continue to cover the North East, combining his broker-facing role with responsibility for supporting the performance and development of the wider field team. He brings experience across advising, underwriting and management roles, with a focus on technical knowledge and service delivery.

Williams will continue to oversee the Midlands region, adding leadership duties to her existing remit. She joined Fleet in 2019 and has built experience across mortgages, commercial finance and bridging, alongside gaining specialist qualifications including DipMAP and a Certified Practitioner in Specialist Property Finance accreditation.

Cox said: “Chris and Katy are both highly-valued members of our sales team and these promotions recognise the contribution they have already made to the business, as well as the qualities they bring as leaders.

“Both have strong relationships with our intermediary partners, a deep understanding of the specialist buy-to-let market and the experience to help support and develop colleagues across the wider field team.

“These newly-created roles will strengthen our sales structure further and ensure we continue to provide the high levels of service and support our broker partners expect from Fleet.”

RELATIONSHIP BUILDING

Barwick added: “I’m delighted to step into this new role at Fleet. Our business is built on the support we provide to brokers and the specialist expertise we bring, and I’m looking forward to helping develop the team further while continuing to work closely with brokers across my region.”

Williams said: “I’m excited to be taking on this new role. Fleet has given me the opportunity to develop my career and build strong relationships with brokers, and I’m excited to take on a wider leadership role while continuing to support advisers in the Midlands.”
