Fleet Mortgages has announced the make-up of its senior management team.

The new buy-to-let and specialist lender, which is due to launch in mid-November, will be led by Bob Young as chief executive officer.

Young (pictured) was previously managing director of buy-to-let lender CHL Mortgages and he brings with him a core group of ex-CHL management and staff including Mike Lane (chief information officer), Keith Murrell (chief operating officer), Sunny Lo (chief financial officer), Jannie Vermeulen (chief credit and risk officer) as well as Ross Turrell (sales director).

Philip Tebbatt, formerly of Slater Rhodes, has also joined the business as chief legal officer.

Fleet Mortgages is currently recruiting across a number of positions and has already filled a number of roles within the business including Diane Mitchell (head of credit), Stefan Terblanche (head of IT), and Kim Beaven (head of HR). Further announcements will be made as key roles are filled.

Fleet Mortgages is based in Fleet, Hampshire and will lend exclusively through the intermediary sector initially offering buy-to-let mortgages for residential landlords as well as limited companies and those seeking finance for Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs).

Young said: “It is very pleasing to be able to announce the senior management team at Fleet Mortgages as we put in place a collection of experienced mortgage and financial services professionals to launch and run this new lending venture. In all the businesses I have been involved in our focus has always been on the quality of staff – we know that Fleet Mortgages will only ever be as good as the people working here which is why we have secured the best in the business, and will only appoint those who think like ‘us’ and will make the same decisions ‘we’ would make.

“The experience and quality within this team is second to none and it means we are able to launch as a lender in double-quick time and hit the ground running with our ambitious growth plans. Our aim is to build a successful, sustainable business and become the natural first port of call for any broker looking for a specialist lender to meet the complexities of their clients. All the staff at Fleet Mortgages are absolutely committed to making this business a success and we will be outlining how we will achieve this over the coming weeks. This is the start of an exciting venture and with the quality of staff we have, and the partnerships we already have in place, we are absolutely certain we can carve out a major position for ourselves in the UK lending market.”
