First2Protect unveils Acturis-built broker portal to streamline insurance referrals

Published on

First2Protect has launched a new broker portal designed to give mortgage advisers a faster and more transparent route to placing general insurance business.

The platform, developed in partnership with Acturis, went live on 24 November and forms a central part of the firm’s wider digital upgrade.

First2Protect said the system has been created to reduce administrative workloads for brokers, improve conversion rates and provide clear oversight of referral progress.

ENHANCED VISIBILITY FOR ADVISERS

The portal introduces a dedicated referral workflow, replacing manual steps with automated processes and integrated management information dashboards. Advisers will be able to track cases in real time, monitor activity across their business and review customer outcomes.

The technology is also designed to help firms increase recurring revenue by giving greater clarity over conversion and performance data. The company said the collaboration draws heavily on Acturis’ experience in high-volume personal lines distribution and call-centre workflow automation.

Brian Coulton, business development director at First2Protect, said: “The launch of our Broker Portal represents a major step forward in our mission to make general insurance easier and more transparent for advisers.

“Brokers told us they wanted real-time visibility, simplicity and confidence in the process, and that’s exactly what we have delivered.”

He said: “This technology gives advisers genuine control over the referral journey while enabling them to protect more clients, increase penetration and grow recurring income — all without additional administrative burden.”

MARKET INPUT

First2Protect and Acturis worked with a number of pilot firms, networks and insurers during the build phase to ensure the system reflected day-to-day advisory requirements. The platform supports both advised referral and e-trade routes and includes specialist escalation for non-standard risks.

Hannah Crompton, personal lines product manager at Acturis, said: “We are pleased to support First2Protect with a solution that demonstrates how intelligent automation and integrated workflows can transform personal lines distribution.”

She said: “This is a strong example of technology delivering meaningful efficiencies and commercial opportunities for brokers at scale.”

PLATFORM FEATURES

The portal offers advisers live case tracking, milestone notifications, automated renewal communication and secure document upload. Referrals can be submitted in under one minute, and firms can access dashboards showing conversion and commission insight.
