Exeter Family Friendly adds virtual GP service to every policy

Published on

Exeter Family Friendly has added another new membership benefit for both its income protection and private medical insurance policyholders.

Having recently added both a GP helpline and private prescription service to help its members overcome problems accessing NHS primary care services, the mutual insurer has now built in an additional virtual GP service.

Policyholders will be able to book and carry out face to face consultations with private GPs online using a webcam.

Simon Philp, director of distribution & marketing said: “This year, we set ourselves a challenge to add simple and tangible benefits that provide added value for our members.”

“Access to primary care services in the NHS is a real problem, with many people having to wait days if not weeks to see their GP. This benefit means our policyholders can have a personal consultation with a practicing GP from the comfort of their own home – convenience fit for 2015.”

The benefit will be available to both existing and new policyholders.
