e4 Strategic deepens Caversham House partnership to build AI capability into VERSA

Extended collaboration aims to strengthen people-led artificial intelligence across e4 Strategic’s flagship mortgage technology platform.

e4 Strategic has extended its partnership with Caversham House as it looks to embed advanced, people-first artificial intelligence capabilities into the continued development of its VERSA platform.

The collaboration is designed to accelerate all aspects of VERSA’s production environment, while building long-term internal capability and skills across e4’s teams.

The company said the AI-led approach is delivering faster development cycles and more scalable internal operations, without replacing human expertise.

According to e4, the partnership has already delivered measurable improvements across its production teams. Sprint velocity has increased by more than 50%, driven by higher-quality inputs, faster onboarding and quicker development, while around 20% of code review time has been saved through a combined human-and-AI review process.

VERSA has been developed in the UK over the past four years in collaboration with mortgage lenders and conveyancing specialists. The platform also draws on more than two decades of experience delivering similar solutions to major mortgage lenders and conveyancers in South Africa.

Simon Slater (pictured), chief executive of e4 Strategic, said: “Caversham House and its founder Chris Hornby are world-class experts in this field, having worked with major organisations in high pressure environments in the US and the UK, to help them sustainably strengthen their internal AI capabilities.

“VERSA is all about helping lenders and conveyancers modernise the post-offer journey, and this partnership equips e4 with the most modern tools available and the AI adoption know-how to use them safely and effectively.

“As a tech company, this can be a long road at times, but we are focused on building lasting capability rather than short-term fixes, enabling us to give our clients faster development cycles, with strong compliance, and more scalable operations, all via VERSA.

“This also strongly supports the AI functionality being embedded into the platform itself to support users.”

Chris Hornby, founder and chief executive of Caversham House, added: “AI adoption sticks when people are given the tools, training, and expertise to reshape their own workflows.

“By working across the e4 teams, we’re embedding that approach into VERSA, ensuring e4 remains at the forefront of its own AI journey, while giving users the benefit of fast but sustainable improvements on an ongoing basis, regardless of which tools or models are currently in fashion.

“It’s been a real pleasure to be part of that transformation with the e4 teams.”
