Countrywide Surveying Services (CSS), a supplier of valuation panel management services, has announced the appointment of Jonathan Bourke as director of retrofit.

Bourke (pictured) joins Countrywide Surveying Services from Warmworks LLP where he held the position of retrofit centre of excellence manager, ensuring that all works conducted under the GSENZH’s LAD and HUG Schemes in London and the South East of England were delivered to meet the PAS2035 Standard. Prior to that, he was part of the senior management team at Elmhurst Energy where he assumed overall operational responsibility for a division of the business which delivered 280,000 EPCs annually.

In his new role, Bourke will be in charge of developing and running CSS’s and its sister company, Harvey, Donaldson & Gibson’s retrofit division the latter of which already operates in the public sector housing markets. This involves business development and managing clients, internal retrofit assessors and retrofit coordinators. Compliance and quality control also occupies a significant element within this role.

Matthew Cumber, managing director at Countrywide Surveying Services, said: “Jonathan is a consummate professional and highly experienced retrofit assessor, retrofit coordinator, and retrofit evaluator who will add great value and experience to our growing retrofit division.

“Educating homebuyers and working closely with our lending partners to help deliver innovative retrofit solutions with sustained outcomes remains a key priority for the business moving forward. This is an appointment which will facilitate the exploration and delivery of a range of solutions to help improve the energy-related performance of UK housing stock and combat the significant climate change challenge we are all facing.”

Bourke added: “This represents a fantastic opportunity to work with the leading company in its field and I’m looking forward to further developing the CSS retrofit proposition across the private owner and lender markets.”
