Consultation process is precisely that: FSA

The FSA’s director of conduct policy has said that there are a number of myths surrounding the FSA’s aims with the Mortgage Market Review.

Sheila Nicoll told the panel at the Council of Mortgage Lenders’ (CML) conference that while the regulator was determined to tackle the root causes of consumer detriment, it was not driven by dogma.

She said: “As we have always made clear – a consultation process is precisely that. Any suggestion that the FSA is determined to implement a particular set of regulatory measures
