Clayton Euro Risk has announced the appointed of Konstantine (Gus) Pastras to the newly created position of client development and strategy director.

Pastras (pictured) spent the majority of his career in residential mortgage-backed securities. He joined Fannie Mae in 1997, analysing the RMBS and mortgage markets in Washington DC. He worked in various roles in mortgage banking before joining Fitch Ratings in 2004 and then moving to Investec, where he analysed credit risk and cash-flows of mortgage portfolios. Most recently Pastras worked at DBRS Ratings as the vice-president of ABS & RMBS Structured Finance.

At CER, Pastras will be responsible for sales, client development and marketing activity. He will report into CEO, Michael Bolton.

Bolton said: “We are dealing with an unprecedented demand for our services and we’ve created this post to help meet it. I’m very pleased that Gus will be filling the post. He is a very successful structured finance professional and he brings a lot of very relevant experience in credit risk management and mortgage due diligence to the table – he’s a round peg in a round hole.

:We’re confident he will help us to provide the best insight to our clients and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Pastras said: “Clayton Euro Risk is a recognised industry leader in risk management advisory services to the European investor and banking communities and, with my experience, I’m confident I’ll be able to bring a lot to the team.

“Quite apart from that, the prevailing market conditions in Europe will allow the company to continue its growth – we can expect even higher demand of its services over the next couple of years. I’m looking forward to working with Michael and helping the business to continue to succeed.”
