CIExpert appoints propositions & distribution director

CIExpert has announced that Paul Roberts has been appointed to the role of propositions & distribution director.

Roberts (pictured) brings over 35 years’ experience in the protection sector, working across all product types, distribution models and research platforms having worked for and with various protection providers and distributors. These include Guardian Royal Exchange, Scottish Equitable, AEGON, Head of Intermediary Distribution at Direct Life and Pension Services and as Head of Protection at Old Mutual Wealth.

Alan Lakey, director at CIExpert, said: “We are coming up to 10 years since we founded CIExpert and whilst we have made huge progress in that time, we still have many exciting plans to develop our platform for the future.

“We believe that Paul is the right person to strengthen our team to help us to move forward and deliver on these ambitions. With his extensive experience in the protection market, he brings a deep knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced by insurers and distribution partners.”

Roberts will be involved in shaping new developments at CIExpert, including extending the reach of the InsightZone. This interactive digital dashboard, built in response to the massive growth of virtual meetings, streamlines an adviser’s protection sales and research processes by expanding upon the existing comparison service to investigate the broader aspects of critical illness policy propositions in a visually explorative and educational way.

Roberts said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the excellent CIExpert team at such an exciting time. In my recent consultancy with the firm, I have been tremendously impressed by the depth of analysis and technology that underpins the service and it’s easy to see why they are recognised as the UK’s leading independent and impartial critical illness research platform.

“I’m looking forward to working with the team to further enhance their suite of comparison services as well as collaborating closely with our insurer, distribution and adviser partners to help them grow their protection business.”
