Recently appointed managing director Gerry Hickey is to head up the new management team at CHL Mortgages.

The lender aims to recruit up to 20 people to join its team in Fleet in Hampshire over the coming weeks. The new recruits will bring the number of people employed at Fleet to 98.

The new management team comprises:
Managing Director – Gerry Hickey
Head of Finance – Kuan Ang
Head of Risk – Geoff Yates
Head of Primary Servicing & IT – Stuart Fuller
Head of Specialist Servicing – Jean Gray
Head of HR & Corporate Support – Lorraine Tillett

Hickey also confirmed that CHL Mortgages has secured the contract to service a tranche of loans valued at £173m which were acquired from the business a week ago. He said that the sale of the loans would have no material impact on CHL which would continue to provide management services for the loan book.

He said: “This has been a really positive experience. On the one hand we successfully sold this tranche of loans for a very significant price and yet, on the other hand, we have managed to maintain the servicing contract for the loans. It’s a win: win situation for us and a great reflection of how well regarded CHL continues to be in this sector.”

He added: “The team we’ve appointed know this business like the back of their hands and are committed to running a best-in-class operation. We’re enormously pleased with the progress we’ve made over recent months and we’re very excited about bringing new recruits on board to join us on our journey.”
