CGI studio scales global creative output with Optimum Finance support

A London-based animation and motion graphics agency has secured new funding to help it expand its international reach and take on larger projects.

FGreat Studio, founded by creative director Conrad Galves in 2011, has partnered with Optimum Finance, part of eCapital, to implement a tailored invoice finance facility that smooths cash flow and supports the agency’s continued growth.

The studio, which specialises in immersive animation and large-scale visual storytelling, has built an international reputation for its work on digital campaigns and experiential projects. Approaching its fifteenth anniversary, FGreat is targeting significant revenue growth and new global collaborations.

Like many creative firms, the agency faced challenges arising from extended client payment terms, with projects often completed months before invoices were settled. “We’re lucky to have a constant stream of work, but that also means we’re constantly funding projects up front – often waiting two, three, even six months to get paid,” said Galves.

“We’re not a bank, we’re creatives. But the reality is we’ve had to operate like a bank to get through those gaps.”

He added: “What stood out with Optimum was that they actually understood our business. They took us seriously, and they understood that both we and our clients were creditworthy.

“Our clients come back because they know we deliver. And that same level of trust is what we’ve found with Optimum Finance. Every time we send them invoices, we feel looked after. They’re communicative, transparent, and professional. It’s a real relationship, not just a transaction.”

After exploring traditional lending routes, the studio chose Optimum Finance for its specialist understanding of creative industries. Through the new invoice finance facility, FGreat can now release funds within days of issuing invoices, providing greater flexibility to pay freelancers, invest in new talent, and accept more work.

With annual revenues of between £1.5 million and £2.2 million, the business is targeting future turnover exceeding £3.7 million as it continues to expand globally. It is also exploring how AI can be used to enhance storytelling and production capabilities across its portfolio.

Anthony Persse, chief executive officer at Optimum Finance, said: “FGreat is a brilliant example of a creative agency with drive, ambition and a clear vision for the future. We’re proud to provide the funding that supports their momentum and enables them to take full advantage of their growth opportunities.”

For FGreat, invoice finance has become a central part of its growth strategy. The agency is now better able to plan ahead, manage cash flow with confidence, and invest in the technology and talent needed to maintain its position at the forefront of creative innovation.
