Canada Life appoints pair of NEDs

Canada Life has appointed new board directors during a period of transformation and modernisation for the business.

Andy Parsons joins the Canada Life Limited Board as an independent non-executive director.

Parsons (main picture) has had a long and extensive career in financial services, and has served as finance director within businesses such as Just Group, Liverpool Victoria (LV=), Scottish Widows, Friends Life, and AXA UK.

Meanwhile, Jake Lawrence joins the board as a non-executive director in his role as executive vice-president and chief financial officer of Power Corporation and Power Financial.

Lawrence has previously held various senior positions in finance, group treasury, and global banking and markets in both Canada and the United States during his two decades working at Scotiabank.

Andy Watson, chair of the Canada Life Limited board, said: “I am delighted to welcome two new members to Canada Life Limited’s board, both of whom bring significant business and industry experience.

“Their appointment further strengthens Canada Life’s highly experienced and international group of directors as we continue to execute Canada Life UK’s long-term strategy to grow, transform, and modernise the business.”
