Brightstar expands youth programme and bolsters national accounts team

The Brightstar Group is expanding its Young Learners Programme and has strengthened its national accounts operation with a new senior appointment.

The Brightstar Group has broadened its award-winning Young Learners Programme with the appointment of its first graduate apprentice, while also adding further resource to its national accounts team.

The firm has hired Emma Burgess as a graduate apprentice, marking a new phase in a scheme that has already offered workplace experience to 94 young people over the past three years. Opportunities have ranged from short placements and internships to year-long undergraduate roles, several of which have led to full-time positions.

Burgess will undertake a three-year Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship in partnership with the University of Kent.

Clare Jupp (main picture), chief people officer at the Brightstar Group, said: “I am so excited about this latest addition to our Young Learners Programme. Emma is an outstanding young woman who is already adding value to the business and who promises to have an excellent future ahead of her.

“Our intention is to offer further opportunities in the future.”

NATIONAL ACCOUNTS EXPANSION

The Group has also appointed Jake Hancock as internal business development manager, a new role intended to boost support for national accounts partners and brokers.

Based at Brightstar’s head office, Hancock will work alongside group head of national accounts, Andrew Cappaert, and group national account manager, Lee Payne. His remit includes strengthening day-to-day communication and improving the consistency of service across the network of key broker partners.

Hancock joins from Randstad Education, where he spent more than a decade in roles focused on client management and operational delivery.

BIG STEP FORWARD
Bradley Moore

Bradley Moore, deputy CEO at the Brightstar Group, said: “This is a big step forward for our National Accounts proposition. We’ve already seen the growth of specialist lending with increased business volumes right across the group this year.

“As we continue to grow our relationships with key broker firms and networks, having Jake in place will allow us to support this growth with even greater consistency and responsiveness.”
