Bright Grey boosts critical illness cover

Bright Grey has improved its critical illness cover for personal and business protection menu plans with changes to definitions and increased its limit for life cover.~

It has added two new definitions which pay out in addition to the sum assured (20% over and above original sum assured up to a maximum of £15,000) and an additional ABI+ definition.

The multiple sclerosis definition has been improved to ABI+.

Bright Grey has added new additional conditions, one for accident hospitalisation cover (28 consecutive days), and the other for third degree burns.

It has also increased the limit for life cover to £10,000,000 and increased the maximum age for Guaranteed Life or Critical Illness Cover from 54 to 59

These changes take the total critical illness definitions to 45, with 41 paying the full amount of cover and 4 paying out in addition to the sum assured and 10 classed as ABI+ by exceeding the ABI’s standard definitions.

Roger Edwards, proposition director, Bright Grey, said: “With so much focus on the gender directive at the moment the importance of life insurance for women has been well sign posted. But what about their wider protection needs? When you consider that every year in the UK, twice as many women than men are diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, it’s a great opportunity to think about critical illness cover at the same time.”
