Bridgewater Equity Release revealed details of its next set of four Equity Release Advice Masterclass sessions being held around the country from September.

The sessions, aimed at equity release advisers who want to be experts in their field, will take place at four locations – Solihull in September, Leeds in October, Bristol in November and London in December.

Those advisers who attend will hear presentations from the following:

  • Peter Barton of Ashford’s Solicitors will be reviewing the complicated legal aspects involved in equity release cases, with a particular focus on lenders’ changing legal requirements and how this operates in practice.
  • Peter Welch, intermediary director at Touchstone Equifax Ltd will be highlighting the hidden gems of data to help advisers target, acquire and advise equity release customers.
  • Chris Prior of Bridgewater Equity Release will be reviewing the equity release market as it stands including the latest statistics and a look at what the plans are being used for, plus he will also show advisers how they can branch out into other areas of later life advice to provide a more holistic service.

The first event takes place on Tuesday 23rd September in Solihull at the Village Hotel, The Green Business Park, Dog Kennel Lane, Shirley, Solihull B90 4GW. The Leeds event takes place at the Village Hotel Leeds South while both the Bristol and London sessions take place at Ashford’s Solicitors offices in those cities.

The event is free for all equity release advisers and has been designed for those who wish to reach the highest advice standards in this marketplace. It is aimed at those advisers already active in the equity release sector but looking to develop their understanding of current market issues and further develop their client service proposition.

All Masterclasses begin at 9.30am for a 10am start and finish at 12.30pm with lunch and networking opportunities for all delegates.

Chris Prior, manager, sales and distribution at Bridgewater Equity Release, said: “Our Masterclass sessions are a core part of our event offering to equity release advisers and, after a short summer break, we will be back holding these from September onwards. As is customary we will hold one a month over the four months leading up to Christmas and we are visiting places which have prominent local equity release adviser communities.

“In these four Masterclasses we will be covering a diverse range of topics including the legal ramifications of equity release, the data advisers can utilise in order to help grow their customer base and a wider look at later life advice in order to satisfy the wider needs of existing and potential clients. Our aim as always is for advisers to hear from experts in their field and explore some of the key issues affecting the sector and the potential opportunities that exist within it.

“We are sure there will be something for every equity release specialist that attends and look forward to meeting up with advisers across the country from September onwards.”
