Black & White Bridging appoints NED

Specialist short-term lender, Black & White Bridging, has announced the appointment of Mike Ellwood to its board as a non-executive director (NED).

He joins Robert Owen who was appointed as NED last year.

Ellwood (pictured) has over 30 years’ experience operating at board level across several complex organisations. An experienced commercial banker, he built Santander UK Corporate and Commercial Bank to in excess of £20bn of assets.

Prior to Santander, he held a number of senior roles within RBS, including managing director of structured finance.

Damien Druce, commercial director at Black & White Bridging, said: “We are very fortunate to have secured Mike’s services. He has a track record of success going back over a number of years and the wisdom gleaned over that period along with the contacts within the funding markets are going to stand us in good stead in the years to come.”

Ellwood added: “I am delighted to join the board of Black & White. The business is at the crucial growth phase and is an exciting time to be here. Having met the management team on several occasions, I was able to understand their plans and aspirations for the future, therefore making this an easy decision to be a part of the journey.”
