Birmingham Bank has appointed Jackie Burchill as its new head of lending.

With more than three decades of experience in the specialist mortgage sector, Burchill (pictured) joins the bank after holding senior roles at GE Money Home Lending for 21 years and, more recently, spending eight years at Bluestone Mortgages.

Throughout her career, she has played a key role in the development and deployment of origination platforms, using technology to streamline lending operations and drive down processing times.

At Birmingham Bank, Burchill will assume responsibility for lending customer services, underwriting and completions.

Her remit will include building the scalable systems and infrastructure needed to support the bank’s expanding lending proposition, while maintaining a strong focus on service quality for both customers and intermediaries.

“My passion is supporting lenders to grow from single-digit originations to £billion-plus established volumes,” said Burchill.

“It’s an exciting challenge to join a bank during its start-up phase where I can apply my years of experience into building a really impactful service proposition.”

Her appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the bank, which is experiencing what it describes as “considerable new business demand” and is seeking to align its service capabilities with this uptick in activity.

Lee Dawkins, chief of operations at Birmingham Bank, said: “We are overjoyed to welcome Jackie to the team.

“This appointment is a step in our strategy to bring the business into its next phase of scale and to match our service delivery with the considerable new business demand we’re experiencing.”
