Bibby Asset Finance appoints Hein Grobler to lead vendor channel growth

Bibby Asset Finance has named Hein Grobler as senior business development manager as the lender looks to expand its vendor channel and strengthen support for UK SMEs.

Grobler (pictured) brings nearly three decades of experience in banking and financial services to the role, joining from South African bank Merchant West where he held a senior sales leadership position.

During his time at the bank, Grobler was credited with growing the asset finance portfolio by 32% and introducing a range of sector-focused innovations, including a supplier quotation tool and tailored funding products for veterinary practices.

In his new position, Grobler will be tasked with growing Bibby’s vendor finance programme, deepening strategic partnerships, and broadening the reach of the lender’s asset finance solutions.

The appointment forms part of a wider strategy at Bibby Asset Finance to deliver increased support for SMEs by providing flexible finance at the point of sale through equipment vendors and suppliers.

Derek Ryan, managing director at Bibby Financial Services UK, said the hire came at a crucial time for small and medium-sized businesses: “We’re delighted to welcome Hein to the team. His significant experience in the asset finance space makes him well placed to lead the next stage of growth of the vendor channel for Bibby Asset Finance.

“More than ever, UK SMEs need support in unlocking working capital to operate efficiently and grow. We look forward to the energy, insight, and innovation Hein will bring to Vendor Finance.”

Commenting on his appointment, Grobler said he was excited by the opportunity to build on the lender’s existing capabilities and deliver value through strategic growth.

“I’m thrilled to join BFS and to lead BAF’s vendor finance initiatives,” he said. “With a strong foundation in driving channel growth and building successful client partnerships, I look forward to providing solutions that deliver real value to our customers and sustainable growth for the business.”
