Bibby Financial Services (BFS) has appointed Mike Day as its head of sales for the north east region.

He will be supported by corporate manager Pulin Trivedi; business development managers Michael Horner, Julie Ralph and Graeme Harrison and Matt Lister as business development executive.

The trio have over 30 years’ combined experience within the financial services sector. Day has worked in the invoice finance and banking industry for 24 years. Prior to joining Bibby Financial Services, he was area director for Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance where he managed a sales team of 11 people across Yorkshire, the North West, North East and Cumbria, delivering invoice finance solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises.

Day joined BFS in 2013 as head of sales for Yorkshire & Humberside but will now extend his reach to the North East.

Recent research from Bibby Financial Services SME Tracker shows that 73% of businesses in the North East are expecting growth over the next three years.

Day said: “We have a strong team in the North East with many years of finance experience across the board. The team works with local thriving businesses every day and really understand what they need to grow.

“The North East business economy is growing steadily, and my hope is that 2015 will be a prosperous year for SMEs in the region.”
