The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) wants the government to change the Riot Damages Act notification period permanently from 14 to 42 days in order to help victims of any future riots.
The trade body made the call was made following the Home Affairs Select Committee’s Inquiry, ‘Policing large-scale disorder: lessons from the disturbances of August 2011’.
