BFS provides £800k funding line to seasonal business

Published on

Bibby Financial Services (BFS) has provided a £800,000 funding facility to Triflora International Ltd, an importer of seasonal homewares supplying prominent retailers like Aldi and brands across the UK and USA.

Based in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, Triflora International procures a range of retail and homeware products to take advantage of seasonal trends, such as Christmas and Halloween.

The business has established a global supply chain, with relationships with a host of suppliers in China, Hong Kong and across Europe. In addition to importing from overseas, the business exports its goods to wholesalers in the USA.

The business’s Christmas offering is central to its operations. It supplies Christmas lighting and seasonal decorations, which has allowed it to establish a strong working relationship with Aldi and other major retailers. The business also offers Halloween décor and outdoor solar lighting for the summer period.

The funding package structured by BFS’s corporate team will support Triflora International’s working capital operations, as it looks to consolidate its offering in the UK and USA. This extra capital enables the business to target record levels of annual turnover and establish new relationships in existing markets.

Craig Abbotson, director of Triflora International Ltd., said: “As a business reliant on overseas trade, we required a funder who could support our global operations. The funding from BFS will boost our working capital, both domestically and overseas, and comes at an ideal period as we approach our busiest time of the year.

“By offering a facility that supports all aspects of our business, BFS are the ideal funder for us and we’re very happy to have the team on board as we continue our journey.”

Luke Fitzsimmons, corporate manager at Bibby Financial Services, added: “Triflora International is a business on a strong upward curve, operating a sophisticated supply chain stretching across multiple continents.

“Craig and his team have been a pleasure to work with, and we have been able to structure a funding package that will help the business overcome any cashflow or supply issues, both in the upcoming trading season and beyond.”
