Berkeley Alexander has announced AXA as the latest addition to the panel of household insurers on its broker Quote & Buy system.

AXA is the seventh insurer to join Berkeley Alexander since it launched the system in July 2012, bringing the total number of products available to 15.

The three AXA products are as follows:

  • Extra: a standard ‘bedroom-rated’ product, giving £1m for buildings and £75,000 for contents
  • Exclusive: a ‘mid net worth’ product, with a sum-insured rate up to £1.5m for buildings, and £300,000 contents
  • First: an economy “bedroom rated” product, giving £350,000 for buildings & £35,000 for contents, up to a maximum of three bedrooms.

Geoff Hall, Berkeley Alexander’s managing director, said: “I’m delighted to announce yet another expansion of our online household panel. This furthers our position as the GI provider of choice for mortgage brokers and IFA’s looking to deliver clients with a wide range of products from leading insurers, something we have invested heavily in achieving.

“It is a terrific boost to have one of the UK’s leading insurers on board and stands as testament to our reputation in the market and commitment to providing advisers with a competitive and easy to use single sourcing system.”

Mark Blanchette, AXA’s account manager, added: “Berkeley Alexander have a refreshing approach to GI distribution, and we are pleased to join their panel and lend our support as they work hard to deliver an ever-widening choice for advisers.

“We believe that our products bring something different and worthwhile to the BA party, and I’m convinced that they will compare well in the marketplace. I look forward to a successful and rewarding partnership for all concerned.”
