Avelo has launched a dedicated G-day Focus Centre on its Exchange Portal.

It is designed to help advisers understand changes to providers’ products being planned in response to the Gender Directive which comes into force on 21 December 2012.

The Focus Centre can be accessed directly via the Exchange Portal’s home page and enables users to gain access to latest G-day news updates in one centralised place, as well as compare gender specific or gender neutral prices across the full range of providers and alert them to switching dates (planned throughout November and right up to 21 December).

It also allows users to link directly to relevant information on provider extranets.

Paul Yates, strategy and product development director at Avelo, said: “Given the monumental effort that most advisers are currently undertaking to ensure they are RDR compliant, there’s a real risk that significant G-day changes to annuities and protection will go under the radar.

“Avelo’s Focus Centre aims to help improve the situation by providing a comprehensive, up to the minute précis of news and pricing information direct to advisers during the run up to the implementation of the Gender Directive.

“Accessible direct from the adviser’s desk top, it aims to bring advisers quickly up to speed on the latest developments so they can help their clients make an informed choice on annuity or insurance purchase.”
