Assetz Capital appoints new relationship director for London and South West

Assetz Capital has appointed Callum Ferguson as relationship director to drive growth across London and the South West.

Ferguson (pictured) brings over 15 years of experience in UK real estate, with a particular emphasis on development finance since 2015. His recent role as head of business development at Clearwell Capital saw him originate and deliver a wide range of funding structures, including joint ventures, mezzanine finance, and senior development loans across residential, commercial and mixed-use projects.

In his new role, Ferguson is expected to expand Assetz Capital’s lending activities and deepen its support for SME developers seeking flexible finance solutions.

Andrew Fraser, chief commercial officer at Assetz Capital, said the appointment underlines the lender’s commitment to addressing the ongoing housing shortage, particularly in regions where planning bottlenecks continue to stall delivery.

“London and the South West are core markets for Assetz Capital. Callum’s appointment will enable us to build on the £178m of lending and the building of 804 homes we’ve supported in the region – enhancing our long standing commitment to house building,” Fraser said.

He added that with more than 21,000 homes currently stuck in the planning system, it was essential to ensure that SME developers could access reliable funding quickly, helping to accelerate much-needed delivery.

Ferguson said he was “delighted” to be joining the business at a pivotal stage in its expansion.

“Their depth of experience and operational excellence is much admired within the industry and I look forward to growing the business’s footprint across London and the South West, providing flexible funding solutions for investors and SME developers across the region,” he said.
