Barclays has had complaints about a TV advert dismissed by the advertising regulator.

A TV ad for Barclays Bank, broadcast on 1 February 2011, featured a mechanical machine that produced shoes and had cogs made of giant coins. The voice-over stated “It’s good news that four out of five business lending applications are approved with the support of Barclay’s business managers
