Ann Harris reappointed to MaPS board

The Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) has announced that Ann Harris has been reappointed to its board by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Harris (pictured) has served as non-executive director on the MaPS Board since it was first established. Her new term will run for two years from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2025.

Before joining the Board, Harris was the chair and a non-executive director of the Pensions Advisory Service. She worked for 40 years as a civil servant, latterly holding senior Civil Service roles in finance and programme management. She was awarded an OBE in 2009 for her services to DWP.

Her additional roles outside the Money and Pensions Service include non-executive director and chair, audit risk and assurance committee for Social Work England and chair of Dunstable and District Citizens Advice.

Minister for Pensions, Laura Trott, said: “Ann’s reappointment will allow stability and continuity of knowledge and expertise on the MaPS board and both the MaPS Chair and I thank her for her ongoing support.”

Sara Weller, MaPS chair designate, added: “I am delighted that Ann will continue in her role as senior independent member of the MaPS board. Her knowledge of the pensions sector and experience within MaPS will be invaluable as we build our new base in Bedford.”

Harris concluded: “I am pleased to have the opportunity to continue working with Sara, the other Non-Executive Directors and the Executive at MaPS. This organisation is full of passionate and well-motivated people who want to make it even more successful. I look forward to working with them all to do just that.”
