Alternative Bridging makes new hires in Manchester and Hertfordshire

Alternative Bridging Corporation has added two internal business development managers to its sales team, strengthening regional coverage and support for brokers.

Matt Pickering has joined as IBDM for the North, working from the lender’s Manchester office, while Hasana Cassamally has taken up the same role at its Hertfordshire base. Both report to head of sales, Paul Gavin, and started on 1 September.

Pickering (pictured, left) brings more than a decade of property finance experience, most recently at Evolution Money and Phillips & Cohen Associates, where he was named employee of the year in 2024 after generating £1m in client fees. He previously spent significant time at Together Money across bridging and development finance.

Cassamally (pictured, right) joins from Funding Circle, where she worked for four years in business development and broker support across commercial mortgages, SME lending and asset finance. She is fluent in English, French, Creole and Urdu, and has built a reputation for fast, effective broker support.

The appointments mark further investment in Alternative Bridging’s sales team as the lender prepares to launch new products in the coming weeks. The move also boosts its presence in Manchester, broadening support for brokers across the North West.

Paul Gavin, head of sales, said: “Expanding our team is about making sure brokers have the right people to turn to, wherever they are based.

“Matt’s experience and his presence in Manchester give us greater reach across the North, while Hasana brings fresh energy and proven expertise to our Hertfordshire office.

“Growing our sales team ensures we are well positioned to support brokers as our proposition continues to expand.”

Pickering added: “Joining Alternative Bridging feels like a natural next step for me. Having spent much of my career in property finance, I’m excited to return to the sector and to be based in Manchester where I can provide more localised support to brokers across the North.”
